hmmm well it felt like i hadn’t been on the internet for weeks anyway…

Wednesday:

I was accompanied by my friend Natasha to look for some sort of dress-frock-attire-thing to wear to my formal. See, the problem with formal shopping is, you need either a million dollars, long legs, or adequate-sized breasts: i don’t have either of the three. But I did find a nice dress, and even though it is a size 6, it’s still slightly baggy on me. Damn my short-short legs and retarded body shape. But yeah, I’m happy with it, even though it cost $AU300 and was pretty much a couple week’s worth of pay (considering i didn’t work much during the hsc year). It’s a nice fuchsia colour. Then we walked around for a bit, caught the bus to Paddington, and browsed a bit of Oxford St. Incu presents Topshop/Topman was extremely disappointing. I’ve always liked Incu, except everything they stock costs a million dollars. But this time… they failed! There was barely any Topshop. And no shoes!!! Blasphemy! They should just open a Topshop Sydney or Topshop Australia. They did for American Apparel, and American Apparel is bullocks. After much disappointment, we browsed Paddy’s markets, and a few material stores in Haymarket/Chinatown. Then sat in Hyde Park and made fun of the Ibis birds. Tehehe. Oh yeah, I always have such bad luck with film cameras. The film that was in my LC-A wasn’t wound onto the spool properly. So the pictures I had taken on Tuesday + Wednesday are lost in negative space. Pity.
…. Also, every girl who works for/at Alannah Hill is incredibly adorable. Especially the girl who works at the store in the Strand Arcade. I’ll capture her in a pokeball and marry her.

Thursday:

Chaotic Sydney weather is chaotic. I walked around the city again to find some more stuffs for the formal. I bought shoes ($AU150), and a clutch-thing ($AU25). I broke a few piggy banks. Went to the Apple Store to enquire about some external hardrives for Macs (my current one is going ballistic when plugged into my Macbook). Almost fell asleep on the train, then went to work for a 7hr shift. Was extremely tired. Laughed at all the Twilight-New-Moon/emo kids that wandered around my workplace.

Friday:

Woke up at usual body-clock time. Then relocated to the living room couch for some more sleep. I still need to catch up on sleep. I thought today was 41 degrees, but the temperature reading on my mother’s car said 28.5 degrees. Nonetheless, it was like being burnt alive in an oven, and luckily the air-con at work was operating this time. It was the longest five hour shift I’ve ever had, and who the hell buys toys at 9pm!!!! Stupid work, and stupid managers, and their stupid trading hours. Went home and ate a nectarine. Cause nectarines are cool.

Tomorrow I have work again, and that will be my last shift until a week’s time (they gave me no shifts for next week for some reason). I’m so sick of cleaning up toys!!! I don’t know how people work in retail. It’s so repetitive, and boring. And exhausting, even though I’m not doing much thinking.

Worst night of my life. (in retrospect)

This is the story of the worst night of my life that i can remember, I probably have a worst day of my life but thats another story.

The story takes place on the night of my year 12 formal. In the early evening all my group of friends and their partners turn up to my mates house for the usual nibbles and photos taken my proud parents and embarrassed adolescents. Eventually the hummer limo turns up and we all file in. I had opened the door and helped my partner and friends partners in - chivalry is not yet dead i believe. So as a consequence I get the lonesome seat up the back and it turns out my partner wants to chat to her schoolfriend for about half the trip.

The limo driver takes us to a spot in the rocks opposite Lunar Park for more photos. I took a nice picture of the harbor and the Harbor Bridge against the darkened sky (which is by my reckoning the only good thing from the formal and I would keep that with me until my phone got smashed by a cricket ball). By about 7 we arrive at our destination; got frisked by security and let in (shows how much they trust us young hooligans). I pass time with pre dinner non alcoholic drinks and the usual chit chat as various groups arrive. To get straight to the point for our en’tree’s we had bocconchini (sic) and tomatoes. About forty five minutes later my friend and I start to get stomach pains- I thought it could have been nerves but two people at the same table meant it was a different factor- yes i blame the cheese. So were suffering in pain for the rest of the night and around about 11pm my friend and i decide to get the pain over and done with and stick our fingers down our throat.

We do the bulimic chunder and cough up some blood too for good measure. My face swells up like a red balloon after that- so at that stage i think id rather have the stomach pains back. Meanwhile our partners are both bored and have walked off to do something else. Thanks for inquiring as to how we were. The principle came over to see if we were alright and also asked if we had taken any drugs before hand. I had considered responding “Only coke sir” as i had had a can of cola before hopping into the limo, just to see his reaction. The formal wound itself up and the group went to the after party- my partner decided she didn’t want to stay the night and went off home. I couldn’t really blame her, my face was fucked.

I know you might think that it wasn’t that bad, well two reasons for me it was the worst night of my life is 1) My life is normally not exciting and 2) I had really build up my expectations for it.

Lessons learnt:

1) Don’t have high expectations

2) Don’t eat the cheese

3) Don’t get sick

4) Don’t stick your fingers down your throat

5) Its a waste of your 700 odd dollars you got as a birthday present.

6) Don’t leave you phone in your pocket when batting - it will break and you will loose data

Watched the Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus again today. Even more tripped out than I was the first time
Today has been a trippy day
